FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Do I need to bring a packed lunch?

The School of Latex offers plenty of coffee, tea and infusion. We have a fridge to put your lunch in or you can go to one of the many local food places just outside.

  • Do I have to bring my own tools and fabric?

No, we provide you with everything you need for the course.

  • Do I need to bring my own sewing machine?

Yes, if you have booked a class which involves sewing you will need to bring your own machine and thread. This helps you to get more familiar with your equipment. We will provide you with the right needles.

  • Are my skills good enough?

All classes are marked with the skill level required, if you are uncertain feel free to contact us. We can teach you from the ground up. Having dressmaking experience can be a bonus.

  • I would like to learn how to sew latex, but have never sewn before.

In this case we would advise you to book an extra half day with us, prior to the course. This will give you the confidence you need plus basic sewing skills for working with other fabrics too.

  • Will I fit in?

Our classes are open to everyone 18+. Whether you are male, female, transgender, plus size, 80+,… it’s all irrelevant. All you need is enthusiasm to learn and we will guarantee you have a nice time with us.

  • I can’t make the dates for the workshop I’m interested in.

Contact us which dates you are available and we will try to set another one up. Or book yourself in at a chosen date with a few friends.

  • The workshop I would like to attend is sold out.

We limit spaces on our courses (max 4-6 depending course) so loads of personal attention can be given. If you pass us on your contact details we will contact you if a space does become available. Workshops are repeated throughout the year, so stay tuned for upcoming dates.

  • I would like to take a class which is not listed.

At the School of Latex we try to accommodate request as best as we can. If there is a demand for a subject, we will turn it into a class. If your idea is not listed, feel free to contact us or book a private tuition. Dates and subject will be added throughout the year so sign up to our newsletter and keep an eye on the website.

  • Is it possible to do a special workshop for groups?

Yes, if you have a group of friends 3-6 and wish to book a certain date, we will try our best and cater for you.

  • Can I cancel a workshop once I’ve booked it?

Fees are non-refundable, but we will find you a place on a future workshop within 6 months of booking.

  • I would like to buy someone a course as a gift, but I don’t know which one?

Our classes make brilliant gifts to anyone who is interested in latex, sewing or crafts. You can pay a deposit and then we will send your special someone a gift brochure so they can select their choice and date. We then will contact you with their choice and settle the bill.
